On a particularly hot summer day in 1983, Kate Harris was inside, staying cool and looking for something to do. And then inspiration struck. Who needs paper for crayons when there's a perfectly blank hallway wall upstairs? Never before had such beautiful masterpieces received so many time-outs.

Cut to a steamy afternoon in 2005. While typing yet another lame Excel spreadsheet for her marketing gig, Kate Harris had an epiphany. Perhaps there was something more? Something she was more passionate about? Something that didn't require kissing large quantities of corporate butt? So with the encouragement of her parents, boyfriend and overly fluffy Welsh corgi, Kate waved goodbye to the office water cooler and launched Pixie Stick Press. Almost overnight, stores were calling for her fresh line of whimsical cards. The fan base grew quickly and Pixie Stick press was a hit.

Kate continues to illustrate the fun, flirty designs for Pixie Stick Press, all paired with the finest recycled paper (we like trees) and printing processes around. And while Kate has long since retired her box of Crayolas, her love of drawing continues to grow more and more every day.
